Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is WordPress?

WordPress is a CMS (Content Management System) that helps users publish their blogs or websites in a simple manner. WordPress was originally made to publish blogs but these days it can make websites complex enough to be E-commerce sites.

  • What is a WordPress Super Theme?

I call WordPress “Super Themes” any theme that has page builder capabilities included. The theme developers have developed a framework (software) that works as a visual interface for laying out sections of the page with ease. Examples of these themes are Enfold and Divi.

  • What is the difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com?

The main difference between these two options is where you are hosting your site. WordPress.com hosts your site (plans range from free to business to eCommerce) and depending on the plan you are on you have either less or more flexibility with what you can do in your site (for example you can only install plugins and themes at the business level which is priced at $25 per month). They offer a range of free themes for you to use.

When people refer to a WordPress.org site it means that you have purchased your own domain, hosting and have installed the WordPress software in that hosting. The themes that you use are either free from the WordPress repository or premium themes purchased from Theme Marketplaces.
